Why WordPress is the Best Option for New Businesses

Why WordPress is the Best Option for New Businesses

Starting a new business can be a daunting task, with so many decisions to make and options to consider. One important decision that new business owners must make is choosing a website platform. There are many options available, but in our opinion, WordPress is the best option for new businesses. In this blog post, we’ll explain why WordPress is the best choice and give you three key reasons to consider.

WordPress is Easy to Use
One of the main reasons why WordPress is a great option for new businesses is that it is incredibly easy to use. You don’t need any coding or technical skills to create a website with WordPress, and the platform is very user-friendly. This means that even if you are a beginner, you can create a professional-looking website that meets your needs.

WordPress also offers a lot of flexibility in terms of design and functionality. There are thousands of themes and plugins available, which means you can customize your website to your liking and add new features as your business grows. Whether you want a simple website or a more complex one, WordPress can accommodate your needs.

WordPress is SEO-Friendly
Search engine optimization (SEO) is crucial for any business that wants to attract customers online. WordPress is a great option for new businesses because it is SEO-friendly right out of the box. This means that the platform is designed with SEO in mind, and there are many tools and plugins available that can help you optimize your website for search engines.

For example, WordPress allows you to customize your page titles, meta descriptions, and URLs, which are all important factors that can affect your search engine rankings. Additionally, there are many SEO plugins available for WordPress, such as Yoast SEO, that can help you optimize your content and improve your rankings.

WordPress is Cost-Effective
Starting a new business can be expensive, and many new business owners are looking for cost-effective solutions. WordPress is a great option for new businesses because it is very cost-effective. The platform itself is free to use, which means you can create a website without spending any money on software.

Additionally, there are many free and low-cost themes and plugins available for WordPress, which means you can create a professional-looking website without breaking the bank. Even if you need to hire a developer to create a custom theme or plugin for your website, the cost will likely be much lower than if you were to use a proprietary platform.

Conclusion

In conclusion, WordPress is the best option for new businesses that are looking to create a professional-looking website that is easy to use, SEO-friendly, and cost-effective. With its user-friendly interface, customizable design options, and SEO tools, WordPress is the perfect platform for businesses of all sizes and industries. So, if you’re starting a new business and need a website, be sure to consider WordPress as your platform of choice.

UPTOWN240

A Real Estate Development
2018-2020

In early 2018, I was hired by the owner-developers of Uptown240, a new real estate development in Dillon, Colorado, to create a logo and branding for the project. The owners provided me with a mood board of recent developments in Denver, which we used as a reference for our design process. We analyzed the logotype, font, and layout of each development ranked them, and used that information to guide our logo design process. After going through multiple iterations, we decided on the final logo design and the brand color and font that best represented the development.

Summary

In the summer of 2018, to work with the development and ownership team of a significant multi-million dollar real estate development in Dillon, Colorado. My responsibility was brand and logo design, corporate design guidelines, and initial website design and development. In addition, I work directly with the ownership and sales team to provide marketing design and production consultation.

Ninthward Skis USA

Ninthward Skis
USA

An independent freeski brand
2003-2010

Ninthward Skis was an independent freeski brand born out of the early newschool era, when skiing was being pulled away from race rooms, instructor culture, and traditional mountain marketing into something louder, younger, stranger, and more rider-driven.

It was part ski company, part art project, part crew, and part refusal to let the old ski industry define what freeskiing was supposed to look like.

The brand lived in the same world as park jumps, rails, road trips, ski films, underground media, hand-drawn graphics, oversized hoodies, pro models, and riders figuring it out in real time. It was not clean corporate ski design. It was raw, graphic, loud, imperfect, and built around the people actually pushing the sport.

Ninthward made real skis with real product development behind them: park twins, all-mountain twins, big-mountain skis, powder shapes, junior skis, and pro models. The line included names like Butterlicious, First Blood, THA 187, MIP, Rory Silva Pro, Henrik Harlaut Pro, Max Peters, Laurent Thevenet, Le Comte, and others.

The graphics were a major part of the brand. They were not afterthought topsheets. They were the identity of the skis. Much of the early work started as large pencil or pen illustrations, then moved through scanning, inking, color, layout, production files, and final manufacturing through screen printing or sublimation.

Ninthward also reached beyond skis into softgoods, outerwear ideas, skate-influenced design, team media, and athlete promotion. It was a full independent freeski brand built before that lane was obvious, when the sport was still deciding what it wanted to become.

Nelson Walley Brand Story
2018-2020

Nelson Walley Real Estate recently hired me to create a brand design and logo for their new real estate firm. Ned Walley and Debbie Nelson, two of Summit County, Colorado’s top-grossing brokers with over $60 million in annual sales, wanted to establish a new agency and needed a solid brand to represent their professional reputation.

To begin, I researched the top three regional competitors and analyzed their use of logotype, typography, images, and layout. This information was used to construct a set of needs for the brand design. The ideation process started with several logo examples presented to the ownership team for feedback. We narrowed the options and eventually chose the method that best represented their business and theirs.

I also chose brand colors based on the ownership team’s input and incorporated them into their brand standards. The logo design process involved several iterations before finalizing the one that satisfied the needs.

I informed ownership of current competitor marketing trends and how these trends will influence future marketing endeavors. Next, I led brainstorming sessions which included mood boards, competitor rank, typography, and color. Finally, I ensured that their brand represented their expected goals.
